Do you crash or get cranky if you go
more than 2 or 3 hours without food? Do you depend on caffeine
or sugar to get through your day? Then this one evening
lecture may be of use to you. The Hypoglycemic Syndrome is a
problem of faulty blood sugar regulation that can eventually
lead to Syndrome X and Diabetes. In this talk we will explore
the many different causes of hypoglycemia, many often
overlooked by the medical establishment. We will learn how to
recognize, control, and even eliminate hypoglycemic symptoms.
Herbs, supplements, dietary measures, and lifestyle changes to
help balance ones blood sugar and overcome hypoglycemia will
be covered in detail. Also included in the course fee are
lecture notes, symptom surveys, and additional resources and
references. |

| Flower Essences offer a subtle yet
profound system of healing. They help to harmonize our mental,
emotional and spiritual bodies. Flower essences work with a
broad range of healing issues, including depression, creativity,
addictions and stress management.
This class will introduce you to the healing
world of flower essences and teach you ways to incorporate them into
your daily life. In this class we will also spend time
outdoors learning how to make flower essences from local
wildflowers.

| This workshop will cover
strategies to empower Bay Area residents to respond to potential
disasters. - Learn about locally grown herbs (and even kitchen
spices!) to add to your emergency first aid kits. - Tips on
health & safety. - Hands-on first aid skills including wound
care, splinting, and more - Aftercare and long-term strategies
for community self-reliance - Discussion of how race and class
impact government responses to emergencies. - Information on
making an emergency plan & preparing disaster kits. - Further
disaster preparation and herbal 1st aid resources.
We all saw
how local and federal agencies mishandled the disaster
of Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast region last year; how can
Bay Area residents protect our community from suffering a similar
fate? We will discuss state and federal plans for emergencies
such as earthquakes, epidemics, and terrorist attacks, and how
our community can prepare. Instructors will draw upon their
experiences as health care advocates & practitioners, street
medics, as well as volunteers at Common Ground Health Clinic in
New Orleans.
This workshop is a collaborative effort
between multiple Instructors with diverse skills Snacks provided. No one turned
away for lack of funds. Contact to RSVP, class may fill
up.

In many traditions, herbs
are employed for their strong spiritual healing properties.
Explore the uses of herbs for cleansing, blessing, protections,
dream work and much more. Class time includes a basic
introduction to energetic healing. Practice communication with
plants and learn how to sense their energy. Experience how the
spirit of a plant can interact with your own energy body. We
will taste, touch and smell the plants and also be led on guided
meditations with the plants.
